Electrical Engineer with Mechanical and RF Experience

SunAR RF Motion Corporation, a division of Amplifier Research Corporation, is seeking an Engineer with both electrical and mechanical skills. We are willing to train the right, highly motivated individual. If you have any combination of the skills below, we encourage you to apply.

The electrical engineering duties include the development and maintenance of embedded control systems for the EMC and wireless industries. This individual will design, implement and test analog and digital control systems and software, and develop product hardware using C language in an embedded environment for motion control products.

The mechanical engineering duties include originating and developing complex mechanical designs for new and existing products. The line includes precision positioners for EMC testing, antenna measurements, and OTA testing; antennas for EMC testing and distributed antenna systems (DAS); robotic test platforms; and reverberation system design and stirrers for EMC, shielding effectiveness, and OTA testing.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Design and manage a project from concept to production release
  • Develop complex designs with parts lists using state of the art solid modeling tools while meeting project schedules
  • Create illustrations and graphic representations for marketing
  • Prepare design changes to existing products
  • Evaluate design ideas based on appealing appearance, design-function relationship, serviceability, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, methods of production, market characteristics, and client specifications
  • Create mechanical drawings and designs using 3D CAD software
  • Design products for custom applications. Use MRP and PLM software to prepare and control all documentation regarding the production of designs

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and two years design experience or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor or 3D Parametric Modeling software
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ language development in an embedded environment, software development, and GUI design
  • Experience working with microcontrollers, PCB design and layout, and communication interfaces such as RD-232 and GPIB
  • Structural and stress analysis experience
  • Broad knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, strong electronics assembly skills, and experience with system debugging and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of welding and machining processes and techniques
  • Familiar with ISO9001 and AS9100 work environment
  • Strong communication skills
